My Somerset; Emma Lewis, Photographer

We ask Bruton based photographer, Emma Lewis, for her top Somerset tips. Emma specialises in Lifestyle, Portrait & Interior photography, and gets her shots by relying on natural light and sleight of hand, she particularly enjoys collaborating with stylists, designers, florists and craftspeople from Somerset, and beyond!

Favourite Somerset cafe or restaurant?
The High Pavement in Frome, the food is insanely good, it is a must visit.

Favourite Somerset pub?
It’s not a pub, but I always love a visit to At the Chapel for a glass of wine and some salty chips.

Favourite Somerset hotel or place to stay?
Pennard House is a very special Somerset mansion that you can rent out and you can’t get more Somerset magic than having a big group of friends to stay there, with a refreshing swim in the pond, a walk to the stone circle and a long bath in one of their amazing rooms with views!

Ideal Sunday in Somerset?
A long walk, followed by a good Sunday roast, with a joint from one of the delicious local butchers round here, the fire lit, record player playing & the Pennard Farm cider flowing!

Favourite Somerset shopping destination or shop?
Caro in Bruton is always the best place for gifts for yourself and friends.

Hidden Somerset gem?
The fish man who comes to Bruton on Friday. It is the best fish.

Favourite part of Somerset
My heart lies with Bruton where I currently live and love!

Favourite thing to do in Somerset
Walk, walk, walk...it is endlessly beautiful and inspiring.

Favourite natural beauty spot in Somerset
The walking routes up at Alfred's Tower are always so beautiful & always feels quite different. And I always get lost!! There is definitely some magic happening up there!

Favourite bit of architecture in Somerset
Alfreds Tower, the Dovecote & the Glastonbury Tor all stand in alignment with each other & I love standing at some local vantage points and seeing all three in a row.
