Favourite Somerset cafe or restaurant?
The best meal I have probably ever had was at Osip – but I can’t afford to eat there too often!  I love Matt’s Kitchen for the convivial atmosphere and scrumptious home cooked food, while Home Cafe in Cary never fails to deliver a delicious lunch and a perfect coffee and brownie.

Favourite Somerset pub?
Not technically a pub – but I love the cider bus on a summer Saturday afternoon.

Favourite Somerset hotel or place to stay?
Not a hotel – but the Old Summer Dairy campsite at West Lydford is a wonderful place for a weekend escape with a group of friends.

Ideal Sunday in Somerset?
A long walk and a roast with friends – can’t beat it!

Favourite Somerset shopping destination or shop?
Pinsents Deli and Bailey Hill Bookshop in Castle Cary.

Hidden Somerset gem?
The Queen of Cups in Glastonbury is absolutely brilliant… a low key environment delivering top-notch Middle Eastern food – delicious and perfect for sharing a meal with friends.

Favourite part of Somerset
Somerset has such variety – it’s difficult to choose… but Exmoor is pretty amazing!

Favourite thing to do in Somerset
Glastonbury Festival

Favourite natural beauty spot in Somerset
I love a walk up Cadbury Castle. Sometimes I imagine I can hear the sound of hooves and cartwheels on the track near the top.

Favourite bit of architecture in Somerset
One of those ramshackle Georgian farmhouses… preferably as feral as possible with some tumbledown barns and the odd bit of clapped out farm machinery in the yard.

Favourite landscape in Somerset to paint
Just a short walk from our house is the most beautiful view towards Bruton and Hadspen. I have painted it so many times but it never gets boring!
